We had another great class this week. We started by listening to Mr. Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata while we ate our lunches. We talked about what we heard, and what we thought about while we were listening, and how music can make us feel different feelings. Then we went to our keyboards and reviewed “Group of 2, Down to C” and learned “Group of 3, Down to F”. We practiced putting our thumbs on Middle C and the rest of our fingers in nice hand position (1’s sharing Middle C, 2’s on B and D, etc… nice rounded fingers like in “Funky Monkey”)
Level 1A’s (Ella and Olivia)
Today we did lesson 5 with Mr. Beethoven. We talked about circle notes and drew them on the whiteboard. We drew circle notes on the Middle C line, high circle notes, and low circle notes, and then the girls drew the notes I sang. They did so well!
This Week At Home:
You can review lessons 1 through 5 with Mr. Beethoven in the Library, and practice with Miss Melody in the Practice Room. Do the 3rd worksheet and bring your workbook back Thursday for a sticker!
Level 1’s (Nathan, Wayne, Gabby, Brianna, Ryanne, Desiree)
Today we reviewed our musical alphabet (A B C D E F and G) forwards and backwards, and got right to our lesson. It was a long one, but everyone played so well! Great hand position, good reading, and awesome turn taking! We did lesson 28 in CMJ2.
This Week At Home:
Review lessons 26, 27, and 28 and do the 3rd worksheet in your books. Look at the Repetoire in the back of your workbook and try playing a new song!
Level 2A’s (Trysten, Lola, Caleb, James)
Today we did lesson 35 in CMJ2. Now we’ve worked on the treble staff and the bass staff. Great playing today.
This Week At Home:
Review lessons 32 to 35, and do the 3rd worksheet in your workbooks. Also, practice drawing treble G clefs and bass F clefs. Check in the back of your workbook for songs you can practice at home!
See you all next Thursday!
