Hello everybody! Sorry for the late post. We had another very productive class this week. During our floor time, we reviewed the Musical Alphabet (A B C D E F and G) again. Brianna moved on to the Grand Staff this week so we went over the part of the Grand Staff as well (2 staves, each with 5 lines and 4 spaces, Treble G clef, Bass F clef, and the brace that holds them together) as well as the 2 ways to write Middle C. We also took turns using the drum to play in 3/4 and 4/4 time, playing strong beat 1’s (1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4… or 1 2 3 1 2 3…)
At the end of class, we all gathered around the school piano with our workbooks and worked on our songs, as well as some improvising. Awesome job everybody!
Level 1B (Ella)
Today we did lesson 14 (Musical Alphabet) with Mr. Joplin. We talked about how when notes are next to each other in the Musical Alphabet, they will be next to each other on the piano as well. We remembered how to find Middle C (group of 2, down to C). Good job!
This Week At Home:
You can review lesson 14 in the Library, and practice with Miss Melody in the Practice Room. Do the Stepping Up and Down worksheet in your workbook. If you have a keyboard at home, practice the ant tunnel (good hand position) and try the songs in the Repetoire section of your workbook.
Level 2A (Brianna)
Today was a super exciting day! We moved on to the Grand Staff today! We reviewed note values (quarter, half, dotted half, and whole notes), and stems (down stems for low/LH notes, up stems for high/RH notes. We did lesson 32 (The Grand Staff and Middle C) with Mr. Mozart in CMJ2.
This Week At Home:
Review lesson 32 in the Library, and practice with Miss Melody in the Practice Room. Do the Reading – Treble Clef C D E worksheet in your workbook. Work on the Hot Cross Buns on the Grand Staff in the Repetoire section of your workbook.
Level 2B (Lola, James)
Today we learned a new note for the right hand – F! We did lesson 41 (Right Hand F) with our new teacher, Mr. Tchaikovsky in CMJ2.
This Week At Home:
Review lesson 41 in the Library, and practice with Miss Melody in the Practice Room. Do the Treble Clef Notes C D E F G worksheet in your workbook. Also, work on I Am Tall in the Repetoire section of your workbook.
