Another awesome week! Today during floor time, we learned about the full name for the piano – the pianoforte. We learned that piano means soft and forte means loud, and the piano was different from the harpsichord and the organ, because it could be played soft or loud. We used the school piano to play with a harpsichord sound and an organ sound. We did callbacks with the organ sound. We also worked on our do and do-dah rhythms.
Level 1B (Ella)
Today we did lesson 15 (More Musical Steps – Musical Alphabet) with Mr. Joplin and lesson 16 (Stepping Songs) with Mrs. Mendelssohn. We worked on stepping notes today. It was tricky, but Ella did a great job. Keep practicing at home!
This Week At Home:
You can review lesson 15 and 16 in the Library, and practice with Miss Melody in the Practice Room. Do the next worksheet in your workbook, and be sure to bring it back next week. And don’t forget to try the songs in the Repetoire section of your workbook.
Level 2A (Brianna)
Mr. Mozart taught us about the treble clef today. Brianna learned to draw a treble clef step by step. She’s a pro already! We did lesson 33 (The Treble Clef: C, D, and E) with Mr. Mozart in CMJ2.
This Week At Home:
Review lesson 33 and 34 in the Library, and practice with Miss Melody in the Practice Room. Do the Note Naming: Balancing B and Dangling D worksheet in your workbook. Work on the Hot Cross Buns on the Grand Staff in the Repetoire section of your workbook.
Level 2B (Lola, James)
Today we learned about piano and forte. We did lesson 42 (Piano and Forte) with Mr. Tchaikovsky in CMJ2. We also worked on a new song called Banjo. Its pretty tricky! Remember to change the piano sound to banjo when you practice at home.
This Week At Home:
Review lesson 42 in the Library, and practice with Miss Melody in the Practice Room. Do the Mr. Tchaikovsky Wordsearch and Piano and Forte worksheets in your workbook. Also, work on your new songs, I Am Tall and Banjo.
See you all next Thursday!
